For some time now, Bryan Ackerly (VK3YNG) has had his 80m Sniffer design on his website. What has been missing is the link to the actual magazine article which was published in September 2003. For some reason, the article was not posted in the online archives. That has been fixed. Peter Freeman (VK3KAI), the editor of the Wireless Institute of Australia's Amateur Radio Magazine, was able to locate the .pdf file of Bryan's article, and have it added to the Amateur Radio Magazine archives. I feel obligated to offer a lot of praise to the WIA staff in getting this done. Peter wrote that, "Most of all things to do with the WIA operations is done by volunteers! As such, some things which might not be high priority do get delayed & sometimes forgotten. The WIA only has a paid staff of about 1.5 persons to run the office - everything else is done by volunteers." Before I started offcycle.org, I remember thinking over and over that finding the time to keep the website up-to-date "Will be easy! No problem." After five months, I can tell you it's not easy. It requires a lot of planning, collecting, and thinking. And then you still have to write the article and format the html. So, I have a lot of empathy with the WIA crew (and notice the scroll bar!). Keep up the good work! Click here for the .pdf of the article (Be sure to check Bryan's site for circuit mods.)
